Travel documents accepted by Finnish authorities

  • Ordinary passport
  • Diplomatic passport
  • Service passport / Official duty passport
  • Emergency passport/temporary passport
  • An official identification card issued by Sweden to its own citizens
  • Travel Document for refugees (1951 Geneva convention)
  • Travel Documents for stateless person (1954 New York convention)
  • Alien's  Passport 
  • Emergency Alien's Passport
  • Seaman's book (on duty)

There is freedom of movement between the Nordic countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Iceland). Nordic citizens do not need a travel document when moving from one Nordic country to another, If required, they must be able to prove their identity and citizenship of one of the Nordic countries.
