Certificate of existence

A person can be issued with a certificate of existence for a reasonable purpose, such as for drawing the pension or for an estate inventory. The person must visit the mission in person and prove their identity. Finland’s honorary consuls may also issue the relevant notarial certificate.

A certificate of living (affidavit) may be obtained from a U.S. Notary Public.

If the party requesting the certificate demands that it is issued by a Finnish diplomatic mission, he/she must apply for it in person at the Mission or at the Honorary Consulate.

The certificate is a notarial service subject to a fee in accordance with the service fees. In order to obtain the certificate, you must book an appointment at the Mission or at the Honorary Consulate.
