Minnesota
Finland and Minnesota work together on sustainable technologies. The Letter of Understanding (LoU) was signed by Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz and Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari on 20 October 2021.

Finland and Minnesota have strong ties in culture, sports and business. The state, where many Finnish companies already have established operations, is a stronghold of environmental technology, health and agriculture. The two regions have agreed to deepen collaboration to help mitigate climate change, foster the wellbeing of the environment and create green growth.
The two regions have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the sectors of:
- Clean energy
- Sustainable Bioeconomy
- Digital technologies
