My Finternship: I will miss you, New York
When I came to New York I had a vacation for one week before my internship started. I visited many tourist places and got to know New York as a real New Yorker. On my first day of my internship as a Consular Affairs intern at the Consulate General of Finland everyone at my work place was very welcoming and I felt like part of the team right away.

Finnish Team Won U.S. Competition on Fighting Extremism
A Finnish team has won a Peer to Peer: Challenging Extremism initiative organized by the U.S. Department of State and Facebook. The initiative is an innovative partnership between the U.S. government and universities around the world that challenged millennials to create social or digital campaigns to counter violent extremism and hate speech. The team from Turku won the Facebook part of the initiative called the Facebook Global Digital Challenge.

Foreign Minister Soini Highlights Arctic Cooperation on U.S. Visit
Finland's Minister for Foreign Affairs, Timo Soini, visited Washington, D.C. February 1-4 to discuss Arctic cooperation and international security matters, such as Syria, Afghanistan and terrorism. Other topics of discussion were the security situation in Europe, the Ukraine crisis, as well as the migration situation.
