Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto returned to the Hollywood Bowl for Daníel Bjarnason’s “Scordatura”. Ukrainian-Finnish conductor Dalia Stasevska made his Bowl debut teaming up with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

On August 9, Finnish violinist Pekka Kuusisto returned to the Hollywood Bowl stage to perform Daníel Bjarnason’s LA Phil-commissioned violin concerto “Scordatura” five years after he gave its premiere.

Ukrainian-Finnish conductor Dalia Stasevska, who had been scheduled to make her Bowl debut in the pandemic-canceled season two summers ago, led the Los Angeles Philharmonic for the first time.

Stasevska will return to the L.A. Phil again next year, when she will conduct Sibelius in the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on March 30 and 31.

Kuusisto will perform at the Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco on February 10 and 11, 2023.
