Finns targeted by US sanctions

Today, the US Department of the Treasury announced new designations to the US list of sanctions related to Russia and Ukraine. Information on the designations and their justifications are given in a press release published by the US Treasury at http://www.treasury.gov/press-center/press-releases/Pages/jl0133.aspx. The new designations include two Finnish individuals and four Finnish companies.

The sanctions are based on the US legislation and, therefore, issued independently by the United States. Inquiries relating to the contents and interpretation of the sanctions are to be addressed to the US authorities. The competent authority is the Department of Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), www.treasury.gov
