Summer Events in Finland

There is no shortage of culture and entertainment in Finland this summer. Finnish cities and towns are brimming with a variety of music, film and art festivals as well as sports events.

June 9–12
NASOM 2022 - Nordic Music Festival(Link to another website.) is a choir and orchestra event organized by Nordiska Arbetarsångar- och Musikerförbundet (NASOM), the Joint Nordic Association of Singers and Musicians.

June 16–18
Sideways(Link to another website.) offers a wide variety of music, food, drinks and sideshows, with approximately 80 bands and artists such as Róisín Murphy, Caribou, The Avalanches, Vesala, Dinosaur Jr., Mogwai and Big Thief.

June 27
In the Park(Link to another website.) takes place in Kaisaniemi Park. Artists include Ugly Kid Joe and Therapy?

July 1–3
Tuska Festival(Link to another website.) is the biggest heavy metal festival in Northern Europe and features some of the most prominent names in metal music. 

July 6–9
Helsinki Chamber Music Festival(Link to another website.) is a series of concerts by artists from both Finland and abroad. The festival includes traditional evening concerts as well as free pop-up events.

July 8–10
Ruisrock(Link to another website.) will be celebrated in Turku after a two-year break. The festival's 110-strong line-up is bigger than ever and includes world-class stars, top Finnish artists and up-and-coming names.

July 8–16
Pori Jazz(Link to another website.), an international Jazz festival, is organised for the 55th time. It is one of the oldest and most significant jazz and rhythm music festivals in Europe.

July 12 – August 31
The Mänttä Art Festival(Link to another website.) is the largest summer exhibition of Finnish contemporary art. The award-winning event features 25 artists or groups of artists at its 2022 exhibition.

July 15–16
The Swamp Soccer World Championships(Link to another website.) will be held in Hyrynsalmi. There are five different series: mixed, women’s, men’s hobby, men’s competition, and Masters of Swamp.

July 15–17
Ilosaarirock(Link to another website.) is Finland's second oldest rock festival as well as one of its largest. The event has been organized annually by a nonprofit organization since 1971.

July 19–23
Full Moon Dance Festival(Link to another website.), held in Pyhäjärvi, features works by leading names in Finnish and international dance on three stages, in urban spaces and in the open air.

July 22–24
Odysseus Festival(Link to another website.) is arranged on Lonna, an island next to Suomenlinna Fortress. The festival offers inspiring live music performances by the sea.

August 1–7
Tampere Theatre Festival(Link to another website.) is a display window for the most interesting and up-to-the-minute productions in Finnish theatre. It attracts leading international guests from all corners of the globe.

August 4–7
Secto Rally Finland(Link to another website.) in Jyväskylä and Central Finland is the fastest rally in the championship and the one that every driver wants to win.

August 4–8
Assembly(Link to another website.), a demoscene and gaming event, is celebrating its 30-year anniversary this summer. Assembly Summer 2022 is held at Messukeskus in Helsinki.

August 10 
The 2022 UEFA Super Cup(Link to another website.) will be the first UEFA club competition final to be held in Finland. It will also be Real Madrid's and Eintracht Frankfurt's first competitive meeting since the sensational 1960 European Cup final.

Flow Festival(Link to another website.) is a leading European music and arts boutique festival. Flow boasts around 150 musical artists, arts and food from various parts of the world.

August 12 – September 4
Helsinki Festival(Link to another website.) is the largest arts festival in the Nordic countries. Its programme features classical and world music, theatre, dance, circus and visual arts as well as a range of urban events.

August 19–20
Blockfest(Link to another website.), held in Tampere, is a celebration of hip hop culture and one of the major music festivals in the country. It has been nominated as Festival of the Year at the Industry Awards Gala.

August 19–21
Helsinki Death Fest(Link to another website.) is a death metal festival arranged at the Suvilahti Concentration Hall. The festival focuses on international artists.

August 22–26
Scandinavian International Film Festival(Link to another website.) celebrates emerging, talented filmmakers at the Oodi Library and Kino Regina over 5 days of screenings, panels, special events, and a special red carpet event.

August 23–28
Viapori Jazz(Link to another website.) is a jazz festival held at Suomenlinna Island. Its main stage is a beautiful concert hall built into a granary.

Turku Animated Film Festival(Link to another website.) is a new international film festival celebrating creativity and the art of animation.
