Consulate General of Finland in Los Angeles will bring the portable passport and identity card device to San Francisco (CA) on September 20-21, 2026. An appointment for passport renewal is required, and the application must be submitted in person.

Book an appointment through https://finlandappointment.fi/ Select "United States" as the country of submission and "Mobile passport device - US west coast" for the location. You will receive the address in the appointment confirmation email, so check your junk mailbox. Once the appointments fill up, no additions will be made but you can check the appointment service system for cancellations.

Passport and identity card applications can only be processed if the applicant’s personal information in the Finnish Population Information System is accurate and up to date (e.g., a name change due to marriage or the birth of the child must be registered to the Finnish population registry before applying for passport or identity card). According to the Population Information Act (661/2009), the applicant shall ensure that the personal information is correct. Personal data can be checked from Digital and Population Data Services Agency once a year free of charge.
