Job Opening at the Embassy: Driver

The Embassy of Finland in Washington D.C. is seeking to fill the position of Driver, starting on January 1, 2026, or as agreed.

Main duties include:

  • Serving as the Ambassador’s driver
  • Participating in other transportation duties of the Embassy and maintaining the Embassy’s vehicles
  • Performing security and usher duties during events held at the Embassy premises
  • Assisting in the practical arrangements of exhibitions held at the Embassy chancery
  • Other duties as assigned by the Head of Mission

Requirements

The applicant must hold a valid driver’s license, demonstrate responsible driving habits, good knowledge of the local area, and a proactive work attitude. The position requires flexibility regarding working hours, as transportation tasks may occur in the evenings and occasionally on weekends, with schedules varying weekly.

We value strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, initiative, it-skills and fluent spoken and written English. Previous experience in a similar position is considered an asset.

Employment terms

The position is subject to the local employment terms and conditions applicable to locally hired staff. The monthly salary is approximately USD 5,000. The employer does not cover travel, relocation, or housing expenses.
