Trade and development on the agenda during Minister Tavio’s visit to Stockholm

Finland’s Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Ville Tavio will make his first visit to Stockholm, Sweden on 11 December.

Minister Tavio will meet Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Johan Forssell. The ministers will discuss cooperation between Finland and Sweden and topical trade and development matters.

Minister Tavio will also meet representatives of companies that play a key role in the relations between Finland and Sweden, such as SSAB and Stora Enso.

“Sweden is Finland’s closest bilateral partner. Finland and Sweden cooperate closely in almost all areas, including trade and economy. We are actively working together in the Baltic Sea region, the northern regions and in the EU and NATO. Competition is intense across the world, and the global operating environment has changed. That is why it is in the interests of both Finland and Sweden to work even more closely together and seek synergies in foreign and security policy, economic relations as well as in other sectors,” says Minister Tavio.
