Customer service of the Consular Section

Please note that we require a prior appointment for all visitors to the Embassy. If you are unable to attend your appointment, kindly cancel it well in advance. Appointments for passports, identity cards, citizenship, residence permits and notarial services must be booked through our online appointment booking system(Link to another website.). For Schengen visa applications, appointments must be booked via VFS Global’s website.

You can contact the consulate via phone on Mondays and Wednesdays 3pm to 4pm, tel. +44 (0)20 7838 6242. Due to a high volume of calls, the line can be busy. Kindly call us again later or send us an email. 

PLEASE NOTE: All customers are required to wear a face covering whilst visiting the Embassy. 

Please also note that the Embassy does not have a customer toilet.

Passports and identity cards

At present, we accept a limited number of passport and identity card applications. All customers are required to pre-book an appointment via our online appointment booking system(Link to another website.) (except in emergencies).  

PLEASE NOTE: All customers are required to wear a face covering whilst visiting the Embassy.

If you have been informed that your travel document is ready and you wish to receive it by post, do get in touch with us (postage of 7 GBP will need to be paid into Embassy's account prior to posting). 

Customer service for visas to Finland 

In accordance with the Government decision, we can only accept Schengen visa applications in exceptional cases.

Schengen visa applications to Finland are submitted via VFS Global in London, Manchester and Edinburgh. More detailed information about the exceptional categories can be found on the VFS Global website.(Link to another website.)

Residence permits and citizenship matters

Due to the coronavirus epidemic, Finland suspended the reception of ordinary residence permit applications starting on 19 March 2020. Activities relating to residence permit applications are gradually resumed.
