Finnish band Le Corps Mince de Françoise on tour in the UK
Shot to stardom by means of the Internet, Le Corps Mince de Françoise, the party pop trio from Helsinki, is for the time being quite unknown in Finland. However, that doesn't stop the band from touring around Europe and working on their debut album in Berlin.
Le Corps Mince de Françoise (LCMDF) consists of sisters Emma, 20 years, and Mia Kemppainen, 18, and Emma's friend from the University of Art and Design Helsinki, Malin Nyqvist, 20. The trio formed in 2007 and started playing out on their local scene in Helsinki, Finland. Their energetic and stylish live performances quickly became a sensation and they're now set to unleash their talents to the rest of Europe.
Thanks to support on Facebook, MySpace and YouTube, LCMDF quickly earned their share of Internet fame. Their upbeat electro pop was picked up and posted on countless blogs, which for a day earned them the top spot on Hype Machine, even higher than Kanye West.
The band's name is French and means Françoise's slim body. As far as is known, the band's name is not trying to make a statement against modern beauty ideals.
LCMDF is for the moment working on their debut album in Berlin. The Album can be expected in 2009.
