Finn-Guild - Join the Finnish-British community!

Photo: Visitfinland Imagebank Finn-Guild brings together Finns and friends of Finland all over Britain. Finn-Guild has been educating the great British public about the Finnish language and Finland’s culture since 1965.

The organisation gives scholarships for student exchanges, runs Finnish language courses and supports the Finnish schools in the UK. Finn-Guild offers its members a library service of Finnish books and DVDs in order to give a taste of Nordic culture ranging from novels to the new films.

Without Finn-Guild there would not be the community magazine Horisontti nor the website www.finn-guild.org(Link to another website.) (Opens New Window). The site offers the most comprehensive listings of Finland-related events in the UK, and has a lively discussion forum with topics varying from serious social issues to light-hearted comments on cultural differences between the two nations.

Finn-Guild organises and promotes participation in cultural, social and educational events in the UK and Finland. It advances the wellbeing of groups and individuals through direct support for the Friendship Network, the Finnish Church, and other charities.

Finn-Guild, a registered charity, receives no financial support from either government. To fund its work, the organisation has to rely on the generosity of its members. All income comes from the membership fees and the profits of Guild Travel, UK’s leading Finland specialist travel agency.

The easiest way to join the Finnish-British community is to call the Finn-Guild office on 020 7387 3508 and pay your membership fee over the phone.
