Alvar Aalto (1898-1976) is remembered for the buildings, furniture, glassware and other objects he designed. If you have any contact with Finland, you’re bound to hear about the country’s most famous architect and designer – especially now that Helsinki has been awarded the status of World Design Capital 2012.
