Our services 

The services of our missions abroad are available to your company. We provide up-to-date market information, facilitate establishing contacts and help in market access issues. 

The services provided by the missions are part of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs’ business services. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is a member of Team Finland, a network of public sector actors providing internationalisation services to Finnish companies.

Team Finland UK supports Finnish companies to succeed in the British market by:

  • offering information about the market
  • identifying and analysing promising market opportunities
  • assisting in finding suitable partners and contacts
  • helping to reduce possible barriers of entry.

Market information

Britain remains a very interesting market for Finnish companies. Its size and characteristics can also serve as an indicator and as a launching board to, for example, the North American markets. Increasingly companies area also interested in attracting and raising capital for Finnish projects and companies. Overall, Finland’s country brand in the UK is highly positive and brits are interested in doing business in Finland.

Questions relating to Brexit

The UK is no longer a part of EU Single Market. Free trade and cooperation agreement TCA is in place between the EU and the UK. Companies should take into account that regulatory divergence is possible and border controls have changed. In addition, there are differences in regulation within the UK (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland). Team Finland UK and our aims

Team Finland UK offers Finnish businesses a broad range of services when operating the UK. Our main aims are to promote entry into the market, especially for small and medium sized businesses, as well as to encourage investment into Finland and Finnish companies and enhance higher education and research cooperation and mobility. In all our work, we also aim to build a positive country image.

Team Finland UK consists of the embassy, Business Finland, Finnish Institute in the UK and Ireland, Finnish-British Chamber of Commerce and the network of honorary consulates.

Finnish honorary consulates

Honorary consulates complement Finland’s network of missions abroad, which consists of embassies, consulates general, consulates and liaison offices. Honorary consuls are private individuals who carry out consular functions on a part-time basis without remuneration. An honorary consul can advise Finnish companies on how to get information on local business culture and find business partners, among other matters.
