Foreign Ministry’s new campaign encourages Finns to prepare well to ensure seamless travel

Christmas holidays are around the corner and many Finns are travelling abroad. To make travelling as seamless as possible, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will launch a video series on 12 December that reminds Finns of important steps before travelling.

A man looking right at the camera. He is wearing a hat, has a backpack on his back and a folder on his neck with a compass and a passport. There is a plane ticket sticking out of the front pocket of his shirt.

A video concept drawing on the aesthetics of Tiktok and Wes Anderson’s movies humorously delivers the Ministry’s main message for travelling, which every traveller should take into account: ensure that you have taken care of the travel advice notice, travel notification, travel insurance and travel documents before travelling.

The creative power of the video series is the well-thought-out aesthetics typical of the time, which lifts official communications slightly above the mundane — the same way as travelling does. The video features happy-looking, fearless Finns who still can get into all kinds of situations.

The concept was created by the Ministry's partner, Bob the Robot advertising agency, and there Project Manager Mia Hakala, Co-ordinator Anni Saares, Art Director Pauline Korp and Copywriter Reetta Wallén. The videos were directed by Jussi Hellstén and produced by Nita Rehtonen and Henri Hämäläinen from the production company Breakfast.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs wishes seamless travel to everyone!
