Yasser Arafat met Finland’s representative

The President of the Palestinian Authority, Yasser Arafat, received Eija Rotinen, Head of the Finnish Representation in Ramallah, in his presidential headquarters in Ramallah on 10 July. She came to bid farewell to President Arafat at the termination of her mission in Palestine. During the meeting President Arafat expressed his high appreciation of the friendship between the people of Palestine and Finland. He also appreciates the role and efforts of the Representation of Finland in solidification and improving this friendship. The latest developments of the Palestinian Authority Area were also discussed.

Counsellor Keijo Ruokaranta will succeed Rotinen, who will return to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, as of 1 August.
