Job Opening at the Embassy of Finland: Driver / Office Services Attendant
The Embassy of Finland in Bern represents the Republic of Finland in Switzerland and Liechtenstein. The mission of the Embassy is to oversee Finland’s political, economic and civic interests, promote knowledge of Finland, promote Finnish export to Switzerland, provide services to Finnish citizens and other customers and conduct other duties as instructed by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. The Embassy is now looking for a new colleague for its small but very effective team.
Duties include
- Driving the Ambassador
- Participating in other transportation duties and maintaining Embassy vehicles
- Property maintenance tasks and gardening at Ambassador’s residence
- Assisting with office tasks and carrying out local purchases
- Providing technical and IT-support
- Assisting with Embassy events; serving, security, usher
- Other duties as assigned by the Head of Mission
Requirements
Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record, they must demonstrate responsible driving habits and have a good geographical knowledge of the region. The position requires flexibility regarding working hours, as transportation tasks may occur in the evenings and occasionally on weekends, with schedules varying weekly.
We value strong teamwork, communication and social skills, good administrative and IT skills (Microsoft Office), independent and proactive approach to work, technical skills and fluency in German and English. Previous experience in a similar position is considered an asset. We also occasionally need help with cooking at Ambassador’s Residence, so cooking experience is an advantage as well.
Employment terms
The position is subject to the local employment terms. The employment contract is based on the Swiss legislation.
The employment contract is initially part-time (20h/week) and will be converted to full-time (36,25h/week) in June 2026.
The start date of employment is January 2nd 2026, or by agreement.
