Foreign minister Tuomioja participates in an informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers

Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja will participate in an informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers, the so called Gymnich meeting which will be held on 1-2 September in New Port, Britain.

The meeting begins on Thursday, 1 September with a working lunch, during which the ministers will discuss Iran and Russia-EU relations. The enlargement of the EU will be discussed in the session after the lunch. The situation in the Western Balkans, Arms Trade Treaty, bird flu and migration are to be discussed on Friday, 2 September. The peace process in the Middle East is the topic of the final working lunch that concludes the meeting. Also the foreign ministers of Turkey and Croatia will participate in the lunch.
