Finnish Business Delegation Visit to Chengdu the 25-26 June 2026

The 4th China-Europe Energy Technology Innovation Cooperation Forum will be held in Chengdu on June 25–26. As a side event of the Forum, the Embassy of Finland in China will cooperate with Chinese partners - the Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute, the International Cooperation Bureau of Sichuan Tianfu New District, and the Energy Internet International Innovation Center - to jointly organize a Finland National Day & Smart Energy Sub-forum on the afternoon of June 25.

The 4th China-Europe Energy Technology Innovation Cooperation Forum is expected to attract around 200 delegates from leading Chinese energy and power enterprises, industry associations, research institutions, and related organizations.

The Embassy of Finland in Beijing invites Finnish companies to join the Forum as well as Finland National Day & Smart Energy Sub-forum. The program will also include business matchmaking sessions with Chinese energy companies and stakeholders. On June 26, the Finnish delegation plans to visit major energy enterprises, including the Sichuan Energy Investment Group.

Why?

With abundant resources of hydropower, wind power and photovoltaic, Sichuan boasts rapidly growing renewable energy installations, together with focuses on hydrogen, energy storage, smart grid, etc. The market is featured with strong demands out of industrial and urban energy transition, along with intensive scenarios such as carbon emission reduction, energy conservation, smart energy and renewables. The advanced energy technologies from Finland match closely with the demands of Sichuan energy transition and could find ready market in this region.

Finland and Sichuan province maintain close exchanges. In past 2 years, Finnish ambassador and government officials, together with Finnish business delegation, visited Sichuan frequently and held various events and activities, which laid strong foundation for concrete business cooperation.

About the 4th China-Europe Energy Technology Innovation Cooperation Forum

Under guidance of the National Energy Administration of China (NEA), the 4th China-Europe Energy Technology Innovation Cooperation Forum will be organized in Chengdu on June 25-26, 2026. Leveraging Sichuan Province's strengths in clean energy resources, the Forum aims to further promote practical and results-oriented cooperation in energy technology innovation and facilitate the commercialization and large-scale application of advanced clean energy technologies. About 200 delegates from European and Chinese energy authorities, the EU Delegation to China, embassies of European countries in China, energy and power enterprises, industry associations and research institutions will participate in the Forum.

Practicalities

The participants should cover his/her own travel cost which incl. travel, accommodation, meals etc.

Please note:

  • There may be a shared cost among company representatives for renting a bus for the company visit on June 26.
