Municipal elections 2017 – Advance voting in Australia

Municipal elections will be held on April 9 in Finland. It is possible to vote in advance in Sydney (March 29-30), Brisbane (March 29-30), and Canberra (March 29-31). The polling stations and voting hours can be found below.

Only people, who have a municipality of residence in Finland, are entitled to vote in the upcoming elections. This means e.g. that the Finnish citizens, who have permanently moved to Australia, do not have the right to vote. Therefore, the advance voting is only organized in three cities.

At the polling station, you are asked to present your passport or some other official identification document. It is good to take the notification card of the right to vote with you, but voting is possible without it.
