The Embassy of Finland in Maputo is hiring a Driver / Clerical Assistant

The Embassy of Finland in Maputo represents Finland in Mozambique, Eswatini and Madagascar. The Embassy team consists of Finnish and Mozambican staff members, working in the sectors of political and economic relations, development cooperation, citizens’ services, and country promotion.

The Embassy is now hiring a Driver / Clerical Assistant, with a contract starting on 1 August 2022, or as agreed. The contract will be signed for one year.

The principal duties of the Driver / Clerical Assistant are:

  • Embassy’s staff driver

  • Coordination of the team's transportation needs, in coordination with the other Embassy driver

  • Maintenance and administrative tasks related to Embassy vehicles

  • Administrative assistance

  • Assistance with maintenance of Embassy facilities

  • Other tasks as requested by the Head of Mission

Key skills and qualifications of the position are:

  • Excellent driving skills, and prior experience as a driver

  • Strong understanding of car mechanics

  • Very good oral command and good written command of Portuguese

  • Good oral command and functional written command of English is an asset

  • Prior experience of manutenção das instalações is an asset

  • Computer skills

  • Communication and team player skills

The terms of employment are based on Mozambican legislation and conditions applicable to locally hired employees. A security clearance will be conducted on the proposed candidate with the consent of the applicant.
