Elisabeth Rehn receives the Tombouctou Award

Femmes Africa Solidarité has awarded Minister Elisabeth Rehn the Tombouctou Award in honour of her contributions to the African women's peace movement. She has compiled an extensive study for the United Nations on women, peace and security and raised the issue of women in conflicts in various international conferences.
Rehn will travel to the award ceremony and conference of Femmes Africa Solidarité which will be held in Bamako, Mali, on 12-15 June. The President of Mali, Amadou Toumani Touré will chair the conference and the award ceremony.
