Minister Paula Lehtomäki Will Visit Kostomuksha

Paula Lehtomäki, the Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development, will visit Kostomuksha on August 9-10. Eino Siuruainen, the governor of the county of Oulu, will also participate on the trip.

The host of the visit will be the head of the Republic of Karelia, Sergey Katanandov. The cooperation between Finland and the Republic of Karelia in, among others, the fields of energy and environment will be discussed in meetings with the leaders of the Republic of Karelia and of the city of Kostomuksha. Other topics on the agenda will be the neighbourhood programmes of the EU and social and health issues as well as cooperation in forestry. Minister Lehtomäki and Governor Siuruainen will also learn about the local economic life and the Finnish production activities in Kostomuksha and visit a neighbourhood cooperation target in the field of social welfare for the disabled.
