UN’s High-level Political Forum on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development begins – Finland places emphasis on education in tackling global challenges
The UN’s High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will meet in New York between 9 and 18 July 2019. The purpose of the annual meeting is to review the progress made globally in achieving the objectives of the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Karolina Lång is a 24 year old law student studying her fifth year at the University of Helsinki. She has a diverse work background: she previously worked as a journalist in Hufvustadsbladet and Svenska Yle before the internship and has also been active in Nordic cooperation both as a youth delegate to the Nordic Council and the Nordic Council of Ministers and in Finland as a co-writer at a project for the Finnish Ministry of health and social affairs.

The 63rd session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women CSW will take place in New York from 11 to 22 March. Permanent Secretary Päivi Sillanaukee from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health will head Finland's delegation.
President of the United Nations General Assembly Maria Fernanda Espinosa to attend Youth Peace Symposium in Finland
Minister for Foreign Affairs Timo Soini and President of the United Nations General Assembly Maria Fernanda Espinosa will have a meeting in Helsinki on Wednesday 6 March to discuss topical international themes, focusing on young people's role in mediation and peace processes. Espinosa will visit Finland to attend the First International Symposium on Youth Participation in Peace Processes, held in Helsinki on 5–6 March.
