Responsibilities of the Embassy

The main aim of the Embassy of Finland is to uphold and strengthen the relations between Finland and the Republic of Kenya as well as the relations between Finland and Uganda, Seychelles, Eritrea and Somalia. 

The main emphasis is on the support to the development of Kenya. The support is implemented through Finland's bilateral development cooperation programmes.

Furthermore, the embassy promotes the networking of Kenyan and Finnish citizens, institutions and business partners. Also consular and other services are provided to Finnish citizens in the country.

The embassy of Finland in Nairobi also functions as the permanent mission of Finland to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Nairobi.
