Experiencing life in a refugee camp through virtual glasses
The number of refugees in the world is on the rise. How are families and children going about their daily lives in a refugee camp? The 360-degree video jointly produced by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Finnish Red Cross is set in the Dadaab refugee complex in Kenya.
Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä in health and energy sector focused visit
Minister of Economic Affairs Mika Lintilä visited Kenya 31.10. – 2.11.2018. The Minister led a Team Finland delegation of 14 Finnish businesses, universities and investors, representing Finnish expertise in the energy, health and education sectors.
Evaluation: Improvement of Women’s and Girls' Rights in Finland’s Development Policy and Cooperation
The Government of Finland has had a longstanding commitment to promoting the rights and status of women and girls and supporting gender equality. In order to have knowledge and lessons on the results on the ground the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland (MFA) decided to carry out an evaluation on women’s and girls’ rights and gender equality. The overarching purpose of the evaluation was to learn from good practices. The evaluation thus searched for gender changes and the mechanism contributing to these changes.

New Ambassadors to Beirut, Nairobi and Oslo
At the presidential session on Friday 4 May, the President of the Republic decided to appoint the following Ambassadors: Tarja Fernández to Beirut, Erik Lundberg to Nairobi and Mikael Antell to Oslo. They will assume their new functions on 1 September 2018.
Finland Supports Female Peacekeepers Training Course
The eight United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) Female Officers Training Course recently came to a close in Nairobi. The course, with significant support from Finland, brought 40 female officers from 31 different countries to Kenya for the second time
