Defence and Security 2005: The Ministry for Foreign Affairs promotes international security

Press release 260/2005
1 September, 2005

Assistance for Finns outside the borders of their homeland has become an increasingly important task of the foreign service. An equally important task of the foreign service is to augment international security, an integral element of which is participation in crisis management missions the world over.

The Ministry will present its services and activities associated with civilian crisis management at the Defence and Security 2005 event to be held on 9–11 September at the Tampere Exhibition Centre Pirkkahalli, located in the city of Tampere.

At stand A 110 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs will arrange information sessions about the challenges of civil crisis management, especially the experiences gained in Kosovo, and about factors affecting security when travelling.
