Introducing the Finland and Türkiye 100 Years of Diplomatic Relations booklet

In 2026, Finland and Türkiye mark 100 years of diplomatic relations, a century of cooperation and shared achievements. To honour this milestone, we are proudly launching a booklet highlighting the remarkable journey between our two countries.

The journey that began with the signing of the Friendship Agreement in 1924 between two young republics and the establishment of formal diplomatic ties in 1926. Over the past century, our two nations have built not only strong political ties, but also deep connections at the human level. In recent years, our cooperation has reached new levels. Since Finland joined NATO in 2023, Finland and Türkiye now stand side by side as allies in a rapidly changing world.

As you read this booklet, we hope you will enjoy revisiting our shared history through archival material and photos from over the years, as well as the reflections of previous ambassadors. Our hundred-year milestone is more than a diplomatic anniversary: it’s a celebration of friendships and shared memories.
