Foreign Minister Valtonen in Kyiv

Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen will attend an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Kyiv, Ukraine, on 2 October.

The EU foreign ministers met Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba to discuss the EU’s support to Ukraine, the EU–Ukraine relations and Ukraine’s convergence with the EU.

“Finland will stand with Ukraine as long as it takes. With this visit to Kyiv, we are sending an important message of the EU’s unwavering long-term support to Ukraine,” says Minister Valtonen.

Other items on the meeting agenda are the Ukrainian Peace Formula and related global advocacy efforts.

“Despite the ongoing war, we are working towards a just and lasting peace. We are seeking broad international support for the Ukrainian Peace Formula,” says Minister Valtonen.
