The Embassy of Finland in Rome is looking for a fixed-term office services attendant

The Embassy of Finland in Rome is looking for a fixed-term office services attendant starting from 1.10.2024 or as per agreement. The contract will be a fixed-term contract of 12 months. The job requires a good level of English and Italian languages. Knowledge of Finnish is considered a plus.

The main responsibilities of the administrative worker are the following:

  • Customer service tasks
  • Assistance in office and administrative work
  • Porter responsibilities, including small repair and maintenance works
  • Working as a chauffeur if needed
  • Other tasks given by the Head of Mission

For the most part the employee will be working in the embassy’s premises. Embassy is in close collaboration with the Finnish and Italian Ministries for Foreign Affairs and with other authorities.

Requirements:

  • Customer service skills and co-operative skills
  • Ability to work independently; flexibility, precision and taking initiative
  • Basic information technology skills
  • Ability to do small property repair and maintenance works
  • Knowledge of Italian and English. Knowledge of Finnish is considered a plus

Knowledge on Finnish and Italian authorities’ practices and previous work experience on Finnish public sector is considered an advantage, as is previous experience on working in a multicultural environment.

The training for this position will be given partly in the embassy. The position is that of a locally hired employee, and local legislation will be applied to the contract. The terms of employment follow those of the locally hired staff.
