The Embassy of Finland in Rome is looking for a Catering and Housekeeping Supervisor for the Ambassador's residence

The Embassy of Finland in Rome is recruiting a Catering and Housekeeping Supervisor for the Ambassador's Residence for a fixed-term appointment from October 15, 2024 or as agreed upon. The contract will be a fixed-term contract of one year (12 months). The knowledge of English language is required, while the knowledge of Italian is particularly useful in this role. The knowledge of Finnish language is considered an advantage.

The Catering and Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the residence.

Main tasks include working with demanding receptions at the residence of the Ambassador, as well as other embassy personnel, planning and supervision of cleaning and sanitation, linen service, and maintenance of the guest rooms of the residence. In addition, the housekeeper will participate in the inventory of the residence.

Requirements of the job:

In this role, it is an advantage to know the Finnish culinary traditions and their implications for preparing and catering various types of events. In addition, it is preferable to know the Italian and other international culinary traditions. The Catering and Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for demanding catering duties.

Flexibility, particularly in regards working hours, and ability to work in an international environment, are required. Good organizational skills, the ability to work independently, service-mindedness, discretion, and the ability to get along with different people are also necessary in this role.  

The candidate must have a suitable education in the field of household duties and catering. The previous experience of catering, housekeeping and customer service is considered an advantage.

The knowledge of English language is required in this role. The knowledge of Italian is particularly useful to best complete the daily duties, and Finnish language is considered as advantage.

The position is that of a locally hired employee, and local legislation will be applied to the contract. The terms of employment follow those of the locally hired staff.
