World Press Freedom Day highlights importance of freedom of expression for democracy and security
World Press Freedom Day is celebrated on 3 May. The day reminds us of the importance of free and independent media as the foundation for democracy, the rule of law and an open society. Finland promotes media freedom, which is fundamental to freedom of speech and expression, as part of its foreign and security policy.

Embassy of Finland to organise "Textiles Reimagined — Roadshow on Circular Value Chains" on 23 April in Ahmedabad
The Embassy of Finland in New Delhi, in partnership with The International Council for Circular Economy (ICCE) and Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, is set to host “Textiles Reimagined — Roadshow on Circular Value Chains” on 23 April 2026 in Ahmedabad. This is an official World Circular Economy Forum (WCEF) side event, and continues the Embassy's WCEF roadshow that has previously stopped Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai.
