Foreign Minister Alexander Stubb will visit Egypt, Chad and Ethiopia on 2–4 March. The purpose of the trip is to learn more about African conflict situations and the international community’s efforts to influence them.

Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen will make an export promotion and internalisation trip to Egypt on 24–27 February. Travelling with the minister is a business delegation of more than 20 people, including representatives of the information technology, health, construction, environment, finance and energy sectors and the defence industry.

The history has shown that the Finns always act fairly and according to good principles, Foreign Minister of Egypt Ahmed Aboul Gheit pointed out during his first visit to Finland on 14 June. In the press conference held with Finnish Foreign Minister Erkki Tuomioja, Aboul Gheit hoped from the Finnish EU Presidency consistent measures for the development of cooperation between the EU and Egypt.
