Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva to visit Budapest

Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva will meet with Foreign Minister Kinga Göncz of Hungary on Friday, 9 November in Budapest. At their meeting, the foreign ministers will discuss, among other issues, topical EU matters such as enlargement and the group of wise men. Kanerva will also talk with his Hungarian colleague about developments in Russia and the situation in Kosovo and Afghanistan.

Foreign Minister Kanerva’s agenda in Budapest also includes a meeting, among others, with Katalin Szili, President of the National Assembly of Hungary. During his visit, Kanerva will give a public lecture, entitled “Finland and Hungary – Members and Partners in the EU”, at Corvinus University of Budapest. Kanerva will also become acquainted with the the Finnish Embassy in Budapest and its personnel.
