FOCUS 2007 showcases Finland for investors

Press release 20/2007
5 February, 2007

Published jointly in Finland by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Invest in Finland, and Finnfacts, this annual magazine emphasises the attractions of Finland for foreign companies and investors.

FOCUS highlights the diversity, innovativeness, efficiency and competitiveness of Finland's business community, manufacturing environment and society as a whole.

The dominant theme of this year's FOCUS on the Economy and Technology, just published, is products and services that enhance well-being

”This year we focussed particularly on environmental issues and on services and products that improve the quality of everyday life. Among the international specialists interviewed are Jacob Wallenberg, Giuseppe Burgio and Raimo Väyrynen,” says FOCUS'S Editor-in-chief Juha Parikka from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

FOCUS also surveys the games industry, Finnish design, contemporary dance, fly fishing, and, of course, monster rock icon Lordi, conqueror of last year's Eurovision Song Contest.

”We have given FOCUS a new look and a new layout, changes which greatly enhance the appearance and readability of the magazine. The reader will now be holding a publication that radiates the message of today's innovative Finland," Parikka states.

The 36-page FOCUS is published in six languages, in two stages: English now, followed in April 2007 by German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, and Japanese. Circulation is handled mainly by Finnish embassies around the world. Now in its fifth year of publication, FOCUS continues to gain attention wherever it is read.

Production, design and project management of FOCUS are by Sanoma Magazines Finland - Custom Publishing, a unit of the SanomaWSOY group.
