President and Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed North Korea and international terrorism

On Friday 20 September, the President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy discussed the situation in North Korea. Finland is extremely concerned about the tensions on the Korean Peninsula and more widely in the region. Finland has condemned North Korea’s missile launches which constitute a threat to international peace and security. Finland supports the sanctions imposed by the UN Security Council and their thorough implementation.

The President of the Republic and the Ministerial Committee on Foreign and Security Policy also received an update regarding the threat of international terrorism in Finland in the light of the events that took place in Turku on 18 August 2017.
