Minister Väyrynen to meet the Russian Minister of Economic Development and Trade

A meeting of the chairs of the Finnish–Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation will be held in Helsinki on 15 November. This will be the first meeting for the chairs of the Intergovernmental Commission, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen of Finland and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Elvira Nabiullina of Russia.

The agenda includes aspects relating to trends in trade and investments, and cooperation in the transport sector, customs, the forest industry and the energy sector. The ministers will also discuss climate issues and the situation vis-à-vis Russia’s entry into the WTO.

In the morning the ministers will take part in a Finnish–Russian Partnership Forum organised by Sitra, the Finnish Innovation Fund. During her trip, Minister Nabiullina will also meet with Prime Minister Matti Vanhanen and will have talks with Finnish business representatives.
