Foreign Minister Kanerva to visit Denmark

Foreign Minister Ilkka Kanerva will visit Denmark on 8 October, and will have talks with his Danish colleague, Foreign Minister Per Stig Möller in Copenhagen. Central topics of discussion are current issues with regard to the European Union, such as the Reform Treaty and EU relations with Russia and NATO, as well as the Middle East and Afghanistan. The agenda also includes the 2009 UN Climate Conference, to be held in Copenhagen, and Finland’s chairmanship of the OSCE beginning in 2008. In addition, the ministers will address topical matters involving Nordic cooperation.

Foreign Minister Kanerva will also visit the Finnish Embassy and become acquainted with the operations of the Cultural Institute of Finland and Finpro, which are housed in the Embassy office premises.
