Minister Henriksson to attend meetings during Nordic Council Session in Oslo

Finland’s Minister for Nordic Cooperation Anna-Maja Henriksson will attend the 75th Session of the Nordic Council in Oslo from 30 October to 2 November.

Minister Henriksson will attend a meeting of the ministers for Nordic cooperation, held in connection with the Nordic Council Session, and a meeting of the Presidium of the Nordic Council with the ministers for Nordic cooperation. Minister Henriksson will also have a bilateral meeting with Sweden’s Minister for Nordic Cooperation Jessika Roswall.

The main theme of the meeting of ministers for Nordic cooperation is the Vision 2030, which aims to make the Nordic region the most sustainable and integrated region in the world by 2030. The ministers will be preparing a new action plan to support the implementation of the vision. They will also decide on the 2024 budget for the Nordic Council of Ministers. The topics of the bilateral meeting will include Sweden’s forthcoming Presidency of the Nordic Council in 2024 and the strengthening of cooperation between Finland and Sweden to remove cross-border barriers.

“In the current global situation it is essential to pursue closer cooperation between the Nordic countries. Nordic cooperation is long standing, and it has the strong support of Nordic citizens. The Nordic Council of Ministers and the Nordic Council will ensure that expectations for Nordic cooperation are met,” Minister Henriksson says.

During the Nordic Council Session, Minister Henriksson and her Nordic counterparts will also visit the Nordic institutions based in Oslo.
