Advance Voting in Canada in the European Elections

In Canada, advance voting for European election will be conducted between 29 May and 31 May 2024. Voting is possible by mail or at three polling stations.

Eligible voters in the 2024 European elections are both Finnish citizens and citizens of other EU Member States who reside in Finland and have registered to vote here who reach the age of 18 years on 9 June 2024 at the latest.

A polling card will be mailed to all eligible voters. The polling card will be sent either by post or electronically via Suomi.fi Web Service according to your choice. For more information about the service, please see suomi.fi/(Link to another website.).

If you wish to vote by mail, you must order the postal voting documents to an address abroad. You may then cast your vote and send it back to the central municipal election board of residence or population registration municipality in Finland.

The candidate numbers are published on May 10. Candidate information is available for example on the elections website of the Ministry of Justice vaalit.fi.(Link to another website.)

Your vote must arrive at the central municipal election board of your municipality of residence or population registration municipality by Friday 7 June 2024.

When voting at the advance polls in person, you must have with you a valid piece of government-issued photo I.D.  If you received the voting notice in the mail, please bring it also.
