Homecoming (Link to another website.) (Máhccan – Kotiinpaluu) 2023 had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival to enthusiastic audiences.  The film follows the return of Sámi artefacts from the National Museum of Finland in Helsinki to the Sámi Museum Siida(Link to another website.) in Inari, Finland.

Director Suvi West, who is Sámi herself, and co-director and cinematographer Anssi Kömi make the emotional and poignant journey and continue to search for more items in European museums.  According to West the project produces answers to questions she has not even thought of yet.  A deep connection and continuous dialogue with ancestors is a constant throughout the film.
