As a Commercial Officer, your main duties are:
- Establish and maintain relationships with local businesses and trade organizations;
- Monitor and analyze the Ukrainian economy, trade policies and business environment;
- Follow developments in the reconstruction processes in Ukraine;
- Identify and report market opportunities and sales leads related to the reconstruction and in sectors such as energy, infrastructure and construction technologies;
- Promote world leading Finnish solutions to the relevant stakeholders;
- Prepare reports on commercial activities and market analysis;
- Participate in the Embassy’s public diplomacy, and liaise with the government and regional authorities, local businesses and international financial institutions;
- Contribute to the Embassy’s daily work such as occasional interpretation and translation in trade and reconstruction related tasks and events;
- Any other tasks designated by the Ambassador.
To succeed in the role, you have:
- Higher academic education (Master / Doctoral degree / MBA) in a suitable subject (Economics, International Business, Industrial engineering, or relevant subject);
- Proven track record (min. 3 years), preferably both in the private sector and in trade / business promotion;
- Strong understanding of international trade functions and market entry strategies;
- Understanding of and ability to contact and build networks with between Finnish stakeholders, and Ukrainian private companies and public institutions;
- Fluency in English, in Ukrainian and good command of relevant tools (MS Office);
- Independent and proactive can-do attitude to your work, overall honesty and self-discipline;
- Curious mind and willingness to learn;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- For all applicants it is of utmost importance that you hold all relevant documents for employment under Ukrainian martial law, including the military book.
