Delegation of the FIIA visited Ankara
The Finnish Institute of International Affairs (FIIA) is a research institute whose mission is to produce high quality, topical information on international relations and the EU. The Institute was established by the Parliament of Finland in its centennial plenum in June 2006 and the Parliament also provides the Institute’s basic funding. The Institute is autonomous in its research activities and is governed by a nine-member board, assisted by an advisory council and a scientific advisory council.
Appearance of passports and identity cards to change
Passports and identity cards issued by the Finnish authorities will have a new appearance as of 13 March 2023. Minor technical adjustments will also be made to residence permit cards and residence cards. The changes will have no effect on the validity of previously issued passports, identity cards or residence permit documents.

Our hearts and thoughts are with all those families who lost their beloved ones. We stand in solidarity with the Turkish people in these challenging times and we wish a speedy recovery to those injured in this tragic incident.
Citizens, Companies, NGOs & Government together – Finland is helping Türkiye
The aid efforts were launched quickly following the devastating earthquake that struck southern Türkiye on Monday 6 February. The whole Finnish Society has activated itself and Finland has contributed rescue personnel, funds, and material aid. The Finnish-Turkish community has been active in mobilizing aid in cooperation with other actors.
