ADVISOR, EXPORT PROMOTION, ISTANBUL, TÜRKIYE

We are looking for a new team member to join our team. Someone who can support Finnish enterprises in identifying business partners within Türkiye, as well as provide expert advice on market strategies and business etiquette.

The ideal candidate will possess profound knowledge and established networks in some of the following sectors: ICT, sustainable development in heavy industry or, infrastructure industry, or construction industry. However, companies from all sectors contact us, and we help them forward in their market growth journey.

We aim to facilitate collaborations that drive innovation, efficiency, and sustainability in these key industries.

You will be based in our Istanbul office and report to our Team Finland -coordinator Ms Tiina Kaarela who is based at the Embassy of Finland in Ankara. The position is permanent. The Advisor will be employed in accordance with the regulations applicable to local staff in full compliance with labor laws in Türkiye.

 

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

Your principal responsibility lies in championing and enabling the success of Finnish companies in the Turkish market.

Your tasks will include:

  • Following the market in your sectors and identify business opportunities for Finnish companies
  • Keeping up to date on the latest technology trends in sustainability and digitalization
  • Working with a portfolio of innovative companies
  • Facilitating the pursuit of new business opportunities for Finnish companies within the Turkish market
  • Working with Turkish companies as they scout for innovative solutions and introduce the Finnish offering
  • Building meaningful and functional connections between Finnish and Turkish companies
  • Building impactful business delegation programs for groups of companies

 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We seek someone with a strong understanding of key actors in the Turkish business ecosystem and a strong interest in promoting trade between our countries and advancing the conditions that enable Finnish businesses to grow and succeed.

In addition, we expect you to have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in business or engineering, or other relevant field
  • Approximately 5 years of experience and proven track record in business development, business consultancy and/or sales
  • Knowledge of the Turkish business environment
  • Strong existing networks in the defined sectors and the ability to build new networks
  • Good verbal & written communication skills in Turkish and English, Finnish language skills are an asset but not mandatory
  • Background in collaborating with multinational companies
  • A proactive can-do attitude and ability to get things done

This is a local employment contract. The role is based in our Istanbul office and reports to our Team Finland -coordinator Tiina Kaarela at the Embassy of Finland in Ankara. Some reporting in matrix organization within the region.
