Slush brings together Finnish and Turkish startup ecosystem

Turkish startup founders participated in Slush in Helsinki on November 20-21, 2024. Embassy of Finland in Ankara has been working together with Business Finland and the Capital Region on the Sisu Launchpad program to bring Turkish entrepreneurs to Helsinki.

A hectic Slush week is wrapping up in Helsinki today, and what a week it was! Slush is the world largest gathering of venture capital Slush, attracting 13,000 attendees from over 100 countries and bringing more startups and investors to Helsinki than ever before. Slush 2024 brings together 5,500 startups and 3,300 investors in Helsinki in November to help and create the next generation of founders. For the third consecutive year, Slush stands as the largest gathering of venture capital in the world, with over $3 trillion in assets under management under one roof.

In connection to Slush, Embassy of Finland in Ankara has been working together with Business Finland and the Capital Region on the Sisu Launchpad program, hosting many Turkish entrepreneurs among the international startup founders and introducing the vibrant ecosystem of the Capital Region in Finland.

The program started at Business Helsinki, learned more about Business Finland's startup support, the International House Helsinki, Business Helsinki Accelerator and Finnish AI Region (FAIR EDIH). In the afternoon we visited the Aalto Startup Center and Startup Sauna. Founders also had the chance to pitch to investors at an Investor Meetup Event, and a visit to the Nordics' largest startup campus Maria 01 was organized to learn more about the community and excellent opportunities for startups.

In addition, Finnish and Turkish investors got together during a dinner meeting to create new connections and strengthen existing ones. The week provided many interesting discussions and exchang of ideas, now it is time to take those discussions into action!
