Orenda was screened at the 28th Flying Broom International Women’s Film Festival

The Flying Broom International Film Festival lightened up the big screen for the 28th time this year. Orenda by Pirjo Honkasalo was one of the films screened during the festival held from 27 May to 4 June with the contribution of the Embassy of Finland.

The Flying Broom Womens Film Festival made its opening for the 28th time in Ankara with a full house of guests at Ankara Opera and Ballet Hall on 27th May. The festival program included seminars, workshops, panels and movie screenings raising awareness on women’s rights and women’s labor with the power of cinema.

The Embassy of Finland supported the screening of Finnish director Pirjo Honkasalo’s film Orenda, starring Golden Globe nominee Alma Pöysti and Pirkko Saisio. The film is exploring the themes of guilt and grace, the destinies of two women intertwine into a tense emotional thriller set on a remote island.
