Olohuone Sessions Continued in May and June
The Olohuone (“Living Room”) sessions continued in May and June bringing together guests for two enjoyable screenings of Finnish films at the Embassy.
In May, we were delighted to host members of the International Relations Society of Medipol University. Before the screening, Second Secretary Tiina Kaarela gave a presentation on Finland, followed by an engaging discussion on Finnish governance,
everyday life, and cultural traditions. The evening featured Long Good Thursday, a Finnish comedy-drama directed by Mika Kaurismäki.
The June session coincided with a special Midsummer gathering with the embassy colleagues to celebrate the official start of the summer season. The Finnish film Summer is Crazy proved to be a perfect choice for the occasion, adding to the festive and relaxed atmosphere.
Launched in January, the Olohuone concept is designed to offer partners and stakeholders an opportunity to experience Finnish culture through cinema in a warm, informal, living-room-style setting. Beyond enjoying Finnish films together, these gatherings create a space for open dialogue, reflections on the screenings, and discussions on Finnish culture and current cultural themes.
As we mark the Midsummer season, we would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone Hyvää Juhannusta and a wonderful summer!
