Finnvera Deepens Engagement with Turkish Partners
Finnvera, Finland’s official export credit agency, together with Business Finland, recently undertook a visit to Türkiye to meet with leading international contractors and key stakeholders. During the visit, the delegation also participated in the Finland Country Day event hosted by the Ankara Chamber of Industry.
The visit aimed to further advance discussions on cooperation with leading Turkish contractors, building on two consecutive Finnvera delegation visits to Türkiye in 2024 and in 2025. These programs have contributed to strengthening mutual understanding and identifying new opportunities for collaboration: Over the past two years, Finnvera has actively participated in various engagements in Türkiye with a particular focus on sustainability‑driven global infrastructure and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. The primary focus of this cooperation is to connect the strong international capabilities of Turkish EPC companies with the advanced technological solutions of Finnish firms, supported by Finnvera’s financing
instruments. The overarching objective is to foster partnerships that enable the use of sustainable and green technologies in projects implemented either in Türkiye or in third‑country markets.
Türkiye ranks among Finnvera’s top ten countries by exposure, reflecting its importance as a strategic role. Finnvera’s position is in line with that of other OECD export credit agencies, many of which also have significant exposure in the Turkish market. Finnvera’s largest sectoral engagements in Türkiye are in telecommunications, pulp and paper, and energy. Over the past five years, Finnvera has collaborated with leading Turkish companies such as Türk Telekom, Modern Karton, and Kipaş. All financial instruments offered by Finnvera are available for eligible projects in Türkiye.
Following the visit to Türkiye, Finnvera hosted an event in Helsinki titled “A Toast to Finnish Exports.” The event brought together representatives from financial institutions and EPC companies to discuss international export opportunities and cooperation. The participation of a Turkish representative further highlighted the close and growing partnership between Finnish and Turkish stakeholders.
