Embassy Hosts Tove Jansson Exhibition and Animation Screening

As part of the European Heritage Days, the Embassy of Finland hosted a special cultural event at its premises, featuring a Tove Jansson Pop-up Exhibition and a screening of Moomin animations.

The event offered guests an opportunity to explore the life, art, and enduring legacy of one of Finland's most beloved artists and authors.

Ambassador Pirkko Hämäläinen welcomed the guests and highlighted the universal values and themes reflected in the Moomin stories. Second Secretary Tiina Kaarela introduced the life and art of Tove Jansson, emphasizing her lasting contribution to Finland's cultural heritage.

Following a screening of selected Moomin animations, guests explored a selection of reproductions of Tove Jansson's illustrations and artworks presented in the exhibition. The exhibition attracted significant interest and appreciation, and the event continued with engaging discussions on Tove Jansson's artistic legacy and Finnish culture over traditional Finnish pastries and chocolate.

We extend our sincere thanks to all participants for their genuine interest and enthusiastic engagement.
